The Craig Goida Foundation (CGF) is dedicated to and in remembrance of, former team captain and SDAFFL Hall of Famer Craig Goida. Craig was a fighter, friend and fierce competitor who was taken from us far too early by Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Prior to his passing, Craig was determined to give back to the league and was able to do so via this foundation. The Craig Goida Foundation will act as a conduit to help build and promote current and future talent within the SDAFFL and San Diego LGBTQ+ communities.
The CGF has already begun its mission with the Craig Goida Foundation Quarterback Camp. The goal of this camp is to allow those SDAFFL players who want more opportunities to play the quarterback position, as well as those looking to further their quarterbacking skills, be given the chance to do just that. As a star quarterback himself, Craig understood that the sport of football is rooted in the success and skills of the quarterback position.
The Foundation has partnered with Kyle Crum; a San Diego State Division I quarterback and his K9 Athletics group, to run a six-week quarterback skills camp for select SDAFFL players who would like to develop and learn skills beyond what they would normally acquire during regular season play. The camp also works with wide receivers, giving them a great opportunity to learn the game and better their skills as well. It is this Foundation's hope that this camp will usher in a new generation of talent, leaders, and a solid LGBTQ+ community in our constantly evolving space.
In the upcoming months and years there will be more to come from the Craig Goida Foundation, so please feel free to visit this page or follow us on social media so you can stay updated on all of the events the foundation will be a part of going forward.
